      It would be nice to see this description in your actual post. I bet that some of the members miss this in your first picture.
      I bought a collection a few years ago from Setauket LI Collection probably from 1900 Noted as flint/jasper field Hoe Found when seeding Trying to find other references

          Is there anyway you can take better pictures? How thick is the material. The photos are very blurry. I am not seeing polish on the distal end. A hoe was used to dig. They took a high degree of polish on the working end. It does look like a nice big jasper artifact. I have doubt it was used as a hoe. Just my opinion based on these pictures.

                        I'm always impressed with the amount of work that go into these hoes...They seem pretty fragile to be used as a whacking implement...
