A Lanceolate base. If you follow my finds you will know that I am haunted by lanceolate bases on my sites. 2 in 5 finds are lanceolate bases. It is only fitting, and atleast to me ironic, that my first creek find would HAVE to be a Lanceolate base. lol

            Thanks!

I found it 20 feet from where I stepped into the creek, walked another mile and half and found nothing because of the leaves. saw dozens of squirrels. None of them were polite enough to sit still for a picture.

Drought has caused the leaves to fall early.

                Hey John,
That is not a little slice of Heaven. That there is a genuine, real deal "Honkin Huge" Slice of Heaven, bordering on more than your fair share, slice of Heaven. Congrats on a cool find.

Congrats on your first creek find. I've never had any luck at it up here on the Plateau, but haven't spent much time at it either. Looks like I need to give it another shot.

It is one of my favorite places.

the icing on the cake is that before I knew that arrowheads were found in creeks I had walked that same place probably 3000 times and never paid much attention. To busy listening to the birds, wind, and water, and watching the wild life. One tributary of the creek in the pictures borders the field where most of my points come from, and it is where they join that I found the base. I am very pleased with the find.
