    Would this be source material? I found at the bottom of the bluff where at the top I found a scraper of similar color.

    That's kind of sketchy material imo. I think maybe small points or tools could be squeezed out of that rock but the many cracks and natural weak places would make it very unpredictable to try and work. I see lots of stone around my area that is very fractured like that and It was rarely used by NA here because of those obvious flaws. Hope that doesn't dissapoint you too much. Thanks for sharing!

        Josh has that identified. The larger rock ( matrix ) surrounding the chert looks like limestone, or dolomite. A cavity would have formed here from softer rock eroding out, and the cavity would be filled with a " vug " of chert. In an emergeny, maybe a small point could have been made from this, but it's not a large enough example of chert to return to for a good supply of material.
