  • This One is For Bruce 2ndoldman

    Based on my research it is a French trade axe that made its way across the big pond to present day Ontario sometime in the seventeenth century. It has forger's marks on both sides; two per side, that correspond to sixteenth century Biscayne forger's marks. The round pole does not correspond to the earliest Biscayne axes that had an ovate pole shape.
