Are those ancient mounds in the picture? I wouldn't have expected the sides to be so steep or the tops so flat???

Those are not the tall mound those are small ones. The place has one of the best museums of any of the mounds I have been to

          Hi Ron,

The mounds in the pictures would have originally been a bit bigger- (but the biggest on site is Mound B, which I was standing on when I took this picture). Some of the mounds were used as farming grounds back in the early 1900s, so the act of tilling them would have made the sides have a steep slope to them that would not have been there originally.
