    "CUSTODIANS OF THE PAST—

    PRESERVING OUR ARCAHEOLOGICAL HERITAGE—

    WITH AN EXAMPLE FROM THE SUGARLOAF

    PALEO-INDIAN SITE, TOWN OF DEERFIELD, MA

    New England ASAA chairman Bill Moody will be our guest speaker. His audio-visual presentation will look at the long history of avocational and amateur archeologists’ involvement in the field of prehistory. He will discuss how they have in the past and continue today to provide for the care and curation of important archeological collections, how they can work responsibly with professional archaeologists, and how they can contribute to public awareness of the archaeological heritage that belongs to all of us. Included in the presentation will be an example of how such contributions can be made, featuring an example from the Sugarloaf Clovis era site in the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts.





    Also, always: SHOW AND TELL, and EXPERT IDENTIFICATION



    PLEASE BRING YOUR ARTIFACTS!!
