It’s not the “Gobbler’s Rock” in Indiana (the tree holding that one actually fell down in 2006)
I keep six honest serving-men (they taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who.

It's a rock in a tree and you were approximately 5 feet away from it with the sun over your right shoulder.

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I saw a deer on the top of a telegraph pole alongside a railroad grade. I saw a refrigerator and a range hanging from a shade tree. I saw lots of things placed in trees as the result of flood waters. A rock in a tree is a new one but I think that could happen in the Mt Zion National Park.

We said "howdy" to America's most famous farmer and his daughter while we were there.

Well done... that's Penone's work alright... but you can't see the farmer and his daughter in New York. Nor can you see the shiny bean there:

You were in Chicago? I would have bought you dinner!
Okay, the rock. That was left by Chinese explorers in Ohio during the Ming dynasty in the early 1400's, predating Columbus. It's said Marco Polo accompanied the Chinese explorers as a spy for the Pope. Note how the rock has been fashioned to look like a boot and the ancient writings on the side describing the journey.

Chicago it was! And we had a great time before heading down to New Orleans via St Louis and Memphis. Sadly, the Museum of Westward Expansion in St Louis has closed as part of a long term reconstruction project, but at least some of its exhibits are on temporary display at the Old Courthouse.

Maybe next time, Texas will be on your agenda.
Sounds as if you had a good time.
