  • February Find of the Month entry

Alright guys, it's time to enter your finds from this past February! I am so done with winter and February in general. Two week long power outages, ice storms, negative temperatures, Catastrophic flooding... where is spring?

Spring will come, and with it new points and areas to hunt thank goodness.

Anyways, do not forget to submit the link to your original post and at least two good pictures of the artifact. If you have to take more pics because the others are blurry, that's okay. (Hint: Natural sunlight works best)

Entry closes March 12th at noon.

Tough choice for me this month, but I think I gotta go with this Nolan I dug up just in time for the February contest.

4 today. SMOKED my poor buddy Eric 11-0 on the weekend lol. He kills me when we screen though, so don't feel too bad for him. I can't pick a favorite between the nolan and the early triangular....

It's never an easy win with this crew! Thanks north! The ET is by far the best one I've found, and I love the old ones.... but there's something about that nolan. It was instantly one of my favorite points I have the second I picked it up.

I'll throw in my flint adze/grooved axe/hoe thingie. Has the profile of a grooved axe but chipped into shape.

What do you do when you find yourself with some unexpected free time but are buried under 6 inches of snow and it's 20 degrees out? Go hunt anyway. Made it to my first site. Completely covered, no open ground. Got to my second site and had about a 12 inch span of exposed gravel along the creek. I was already there so I walked

Winner of "description of the month" for sure. I got a pretty good laugh out of that!

Two beads for this month for me. I found them on the same campsite two days in a row!!! First for me! Columbus georgia! The red one is a catlinite pipestem bead from what I understand and I'm not sure about the material for the smaller orange one!

I'll go ahead and submit this little Carlsbad dart point made of obsidian I found in the sand dunes on February 5th. I like how it looks clear when held up to the sun. Good luck everybody!

I hope y'all will forgive me for creating a second post from my "Sandhills - New Permission" hunt yesterday. In visiting w/ JJ today, he asked for some close ups of my "broke" obsidian point. I thought it was broken because of a long flake removed from the left edge. He told me it was whole, that the NA who
