I like Flint-Knapping and I love the Arrowheads.com web site. The experienced flint-knapper would have fun with these items. If you have never done any flint-knapping this would be a great way to get started. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter (That means you too Admin and Moderators.) We will use the winning Power Ball number to pick the winner of this contest. The red power balls are numbered 1-26. The contestant who picks the same number as the winning power ball number will win the flint-knapping tools and rock. You can pick only one number for the contest. The contest will be held on Wednesday April 14th. If there is no winner on Wednesday contestants will keep the same numbers for the next Power-Ball drawing on Saturday April 18th. In the unlikely event that two people pick the winning number we will have a runoff on the next Power-Ball drawing date. So pick a number between 1 and 26 and let’s have some fun.
The Tools: Cut Resistant Gloves, 1” & 1 ½“ Billets, Pressure Flaker with extra copper inserts, Abrading Stones (Fine, Medium, and Coarse), and a Rubber Palm Pad.
Slabbed Preforms: 2 Tallahatta Quartzite, 1 KY Hornstone, 4 Polychrome Jasper, 1 Coastal Plain Chert, 2 Utah Wonderstone, 1 Moss Agate, 1 FL Coral, 1 Gold Field Jasper, 2 Edwards Chert, and 9 Obsidian.
Biface Cache: I thinned them out pretty well but it will take a lot of work to turn them into points. This is some good Texas rock (Buckskin and Root Beer).
