And I seen two Hatchling Turtles squished to Dirt this Spring by Farm/Heavy Machinery. Something I have seen though while walking Field's, The Adult Turtles get a thick buildup of Dirt and Clay on The bottom of Their Shell's making it near impossible to walk or crawl. Obviously It help's to scrape some off. Thumbs up for helping the critter.

I haven't seen any in the fields this year, most have been near ditches, crossing roads from one ditch to another.
Yeah, I'd give em a cleanup to help them out. I've never encountered a turtle in that predicament, other than snappers, and they can get a little aggressive so I usually just scoop them up with a shovel and get an out of the way.

Thank you, Matt. It's no biggie, I wouldn't have held it against you if you didn't get to it. I hope that fishing trip was successful. I'd like to go fishing in the NE someday, always wanted to catch a muskie.
