  • Covid 19 Vaccine

I'm 75 and had my first shot today Pfizer type about 21 days till the second dose . Local Health clinic I had an appointment fast in and out 10 minutes maybe . Then sat in the car for 15 minutes in case of bad reaction they said to lay on the horn if there was a problem . I would like to get back to so kind of normal life and hunt artifacts ? I guess I already do .

I hope it affects you better than someone I know. I think I'm going to skip it until they tell me I have to get it which I'm sure will happen in the future. I see it like getting a free blanket

One of my sisters had it and her boy friend booth tested positive . They got sick just like flue but recovered quickly they both became ill after a hospital visit ? for testing .

I had it a year ago all the systems of it. Never even went to the doctor thought it was allergies except I couldn't taste sugar couldn't smell anything cause my nose was stopped up. Got it during allergy season so I didn't think it was anything but that. At the time we weren't aware it was a virus with no testing. So it depends on the person as to how bad it affects you. I probably caught it from a friend that had been traveling out of the country for work. He ended up getting very ill and missed a couple weeks of work thinking he had the flu.

A resident in friends with a the nursing home got covid and got over it without a ventilator back in late October. Then got his shot and got sick went to hospital came back and ended up dying. He was younger in 50’s waiting for his leg to heal so he could get prosthetic. He said after the shot he felt bad and could never kick it . I’m thinking because his body developed natural immunity a had antibodies and when the mRNA was replicating in his cells thought his body that his body turned on him and started attacking the good cells because of their mRNA coding. The world is now becoming the biggest test subjects to a completely new dna 🧬 and mRNA vaccine 💉 trial . We’ve never used this type of dna/ rna ever in vaccines and these types of things should not be rushed. We’ve had 7 different sars mers corona and funny how we never developed any vaccines for them and some of those strains were lethal . Now all the sudden everyone and their dog has a vaccine developed. Sketchy . My wife and I had it as Ive previously posted . Have known over 30 healthy ( even smokers and drinkers) people personally who had it and got over it with no hospitalizations. Sadly I’ve known many nursing home residents who have underlying health conditions who got it and passed away . We had 3 residents pass away last week who got the vaccine 💉 . They got vaccine on January 11th . ** disclaimer *** I don’t know if there was anything to do with vaccine and old folks die to the tune of over 2 million a year 65 and older that’s over 5100 a day in the USA 🇺🇸. Many of the people who have died from covid 80% have been in Nursing homes and fit the 65- and above criteria I mentioned. I go into hospitals all the time and have talked to many nurses and other health professionals and have a good handle as to what this virus 🦠 is and isn’t doing. I hope those who plan on getting shots do their research 🧐 There “was “ a refreshing video on mRNA and dna 🧬 by doctors 🥼 who know what their talking about but I guess it wasn’t inline with mainstream thinking 💭 and YouTube took it down . You would think that if there was something conspiratorial you should be able to look at both sides and make or have an opinion yourself instead of being told what we have to believe. Free speech isn’t free anymore you have to pay for it now . Anyone daring to speak even the slightest against or questioning the vaccine 💉 is being silenced. The video was uploaded by a zoology professor and he was sharing information from other specialists in their respective fields concerning dna&mrna. He has a popular series that has millions of views since coronavirus has hit because he wasn’t able to do his normal tours & speaking engagements he made a series titled “what’s up Prof” , short for professor , do a search for “what’s up prof 46 “ there’s 2 platforms that have his video and you can click on the YouTube link in the video description that will take you to where you can watch the video.

While I do agree with keeping it non political, I do agree with some of the points. A very good friend of my grandmothers got the vaccine, and it went A-OK on the first shot. Within two days after the second shot, he started experiencing aching knees, a powerful headache, a bad cough and shortness of breath. I don't think it's as much as a conspiracy theory as it is a warning to just know what you're heading into. There are documented cases on the news of people experiencing bad reactions to some of these vaccines, and even getting symptoms that line up with the Covid. My dad is being pressured to take the vaccine from everyone he knows, but he is a transplant patient. This is a live virus vaccine, meaning that it could kill him because he has no immune system. Do your homework, and make your own decisions is what I say. It isn't so much nonsense as it is a careful warning and something to think about.

There is some thought that the body’s immune system running amok and attacking healthy cells may be the reason for the so-called “Long Haul Covid”, in which people develop debilitating conditions, such as extraordinary fatigue, and which persists even after the actual virus can no longer be detected in the body. This situation affects at least 10% of people who have had Covid-19. This is the one reason, other than avoiding death itself, that I want the vaccine. Long Haul Covid, or Post Covid Syndrome sounds like one’s quality of life can be reduced to zero. At my age, 73, I would like to avoid Long Haul, and obviously death, so I am not at all fearful of the vaccine. But, my state is way behind, and I will not likely see the vaccine for many months more. In the meantime, glad I bought a big box of N95 masks a full year ago. Knowing that things might get bad. I love the tight seal I get with a N95 mask....

My wife was pissed($$$), thought I was crazy when I bought a large supply of N95 masks. Took almost 3 months to arrive from the day I ordered them. CDC approved American manufacturer and product. I switched from the common blue masks to the N95 when things grew bleaker of late. I’m 73, with 3 serious comorbidities, and RI has been using a targeted model of vaccine distribution. Unfortunately, that leaves me out in the cold, between a targeted approach, and short supplies. I am targeted for late March, but expect delays and supply may push that into Summer months. Many elderly Rhode Islanders are upset about RI’s approach. But I understand why certain groups were targeted first to get the vaccine. Still, when I see people “cutting the line”, and bragging, not fun...

Watch for the fake N95 masks, now that so many want them....

I bought two genuine n-95 masks at Walmart in summer of 2019 for 7-8$ can’t remember exact price. I got them to dig the dry shelter L2 but never got around to using them. I saw them selling for 50$ each on eBay after the virus started going around.

I did not have to pay that much for a box of 20 N95 masks. Only started using them very, very recently. I bought them in anticipation of the virus growing worse by the winter of 2021. Almost asked for a refund, as it took months. But the manufacturer was swamped supplying front line medical workers, so I agreed to be patient, and waited. I know you’re only supposed to wear them one time, but I cannot afford that. Hoping they will last until I receive the full vaccination. But, I will continue to wear some kind of mask, and social distance, long after I am vaccinated.

I would highly recommend a bottle of NAC . It will give your lungs a fighting chance and is an anti inflammatory. Good for lung health. Hears a non biased website with good info . You can find lots of other websites that promote it. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7649937/ . I’m not a DR but many recommendations from Dr. and health professionals.

It is a touchy subject, and whether you believe the vaccine is safe or not, or efficacious or not, there is the issue of how long will its immunity last? We’ve been told that we can get the virus again after 90 days. If that is true, then it is reasonable to suggest you will need to get a booster shot every 90 days. I don’t know that much about mRNA vaccines, since it’s not something we have ever used in vet medicine. Perhaps they last longer. I haven’t seen their claims. Anyone else heard? Maybe it’s a one time deal. IDK

I’m unable to retest for 90 days after my infection and so is every other health care professional who have contracted. That’s according to cdc guidelines. That unfortunately leaves wiggle room for false positives and us really not knowing wether you had it and were Asymptomatic or was just a bunk test. In the early testing where I work false positives were showing up in 2-3 people every couple weeks . Then the new guidelines came down the pipelines that forced people to quarantine for two weeks then not be able to retest until the 90 day window elapsed. Which doesn’t make sense.

My doctor had the shot first and no reaction other than a sore arm the next day . I waited a few weeks then signed up same here a little sore spot I know its a gamble . Were all going to die sooner or latter I'm just trying to prolong it . If everyone wore a mask and practiced social distancing maybe we could beat this thing ? But that's not going to happen so go ahead and roll the dice . By the way I get flue shots to . My people already got the free blankets that didn't work out too good .

I believe the existing vaccines are good for much longer than 90 days. That said, one big concern is variants that are more resistant to the existing vaccines. Like the South African variant. There are believed to be close to 1000 variants already. The more it replicates, the more it mutates, and the more resistant, I think(?) to vaccines, in the long run. This bug will become endemic, just like the flu, and booster shots will be required every year, once it’s endemic, and no longer pandemic.

I guess my biggest personal concern is the emergence, or dominance, of other strains, and I still cannot get vaccinated for any strain.

You are right about mutating. Corona virus seems to be able to do that very well into a totally different pathogen for other systems of the body. I have been around it for years. It used to only cause severe diarrhea in animals. Now, they are finding it in the respiratory tract of cattle. (Years ago). It mutated in cats from a juvenile diarrhea to a severe abdominal disease called Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Which is now untreatable and fatal. Cold viruses mutate to different strains, but are always cold viruses. This devil can take on a whole new life of its own. I think it’s possible that’s what’s happening to these other people you were talking about Charlie. It seems like it’s able to invade the nervous system of some. But it could also mutate away to an avirulent virus as well. Let’s hope it’s the latter.

O, yeah, that bug’s gonna keep on mutating....But, eventually, it’ll all work out, one way or another. Just worry not resolved in my lifetime, and won’t get another chance traipse thru jungle to climb pyramid ....😮

Only veterans are presently getting the vaccine in my immediate area, but that will change soon. My niece had it last month, like a bad cold, but when her mom caught from her, was pretty sick. My brother has nothing so far. Funny 🦠, huh...

Was planning on getting it when I was able, was going to be a long wait due to my age, but after the past few days of hearing of several very bad reactions from friends and family members who are in the medical field and able to get it now, I would suggest everyone does some research first.

Everyone should jump at the first chance to get vaccinated. Risks are minimal and the reward is a chance to return to normal life.
Principle reason for rapid -potentially disastrous- rate of mutation is the enormous rate of infection.
It's simple mathematics. The more replications of virus, the more mutations. At present we are seeing a rise in strains that are more infectious but no less deadly.
Only hope is we act together and do all we can. Wear the damn mask, keep your distance and get vaccinated.
                  Otherwise it just gets worse.
Half a million Americans will be dead before the end of this month.
