    Moderator Note: this thread was first posted in 2014 but was compromised when the forum software was updated, and so has been re-created manually.


    I think every collector probably has a few different lithic materials they are partial to. I personally go back and forth between a few different materials that really get me going! I'm not sure if this has been done before or not, being new to the forum and all...but here we go anyways! I'll start with some Boyles Chert from central Kentucky! Lets see your favorite lithic materials!

    I like the Alibates also but just like your examples the alibates I get has those fault lines like yours shows and is really hard to knap

      well since im new to artifact hunting and have only found one thus far i would have to go with quartzite when it comes to artifact lithics

            Looks like should be on a stick with bubblegum inside! Sometimes there’s food on my nightstand, sometimes rocks, most of the time both. I’m always afraid will get them confused and crack a tooth! Sure couldn’t have one of those red beauties by bed!
