  • Beth-Shean part II

After a great performance at the Theatre, or maybe not so great as Hoss sugested, you needed to make a nature call before walking downtown and do some
shopping. You would have had to go to this public latrine. You washed your hands in the water that ran through the trough you see in front of the seats.

Then you strolled down this street, which if you notice, is high in the center and slopes to either side. This architecture prevented chariot wheels from ruining the streets.

These are the shops you might have shoped at.

And, if you were single and inclined, this is the brothel you might have gone to. Think I'll just go home.......

This is a city built by the Romans after they conquered Israel.

To be able to walk in the footsteps of the past like that.........
Got to ask Gary, so you'd place a cheek on a stone on one side and the other cheek on the next stone, do your business and when all done just lean over and wash your hands?
Darn near like being at the ballpark!

Yep Greg,  that is just how the guide described it.  Those Romans were weird.
