  • Don't Discount Oral Memory

It can go back a very, very long time......

One reason I decided to take the Hopi migration stories seriously is because I do believe oral transmission works as a way of passing down knowledge.....

Interesting read, I bet if anthropologists could have talked to NA 300 ~yrs ago they could have gotten some interesting information that is now lost....
I would be interested to know the oral stories about Crater Lake! That must have been an amazing spectacle, well from a distance....

Man and Impact in the Americas by E. P. Grondine is an excellent place to start. Possibly not ideal, but is anything ever ?

You can be sure beyond doubt that E. P. Grondine will tell you what a great book it is. I know him from impact studies, as well as from the Meteorite-List.
He is a character and a half!!
