There is a new documentary in release now in the United States detailing the remarkable cave art in the Chauvet caves in France. Discovered in 1994 by spelunkers, the cave paintings may be over 30,000 years old. Their condition is so pristine that when discovered, some felt they had to be modern fakes. They are not, but the French government has decided the cave will never be open to the public. The first link has the trailer for the film, as well as other short video clips.

I have read about this find and saw the pictures. These were very hard to get good pictures of.
