        I've used these to look at the area I hunt in to analyze for prehistoric camps etc. Really nice to have and excellent when used in conjunction with a handheld GPS.

          When we would find or hear about a new site I would always go and buy a topo of that area, and often the surrounding topos. Got a lot of dirty, ripped, stained maps! lol

            Love those maps! In my area/quad, the usgs produced about 10 maps since late 1800s. I try to read the changes over time. Wetlands show big changes over the period. Older maps show cart roads and some trails. Aerial Photo surveys are also out there for some of these maps.
