  • Uncontacted people.

I'm having trouble linking story to this post , but look up "American tourist killed by uncontacted tribe" to find what I'm referencing. I'll add the link in a bit when a get a chsnce.
I have been fascinated with the Jarawa people for a while. One of the last true uncontacted people left on earth. There is a separate group of them that has had their land taken away by loggers. It hasn't gone well for the tribe. I believe DNA testing suggest they are the oldest know line of human lineage. Suggesting they may have been one of the first groups Out of Africa who then ended up isolated from all other clusters of people that left after that.

Yes, this is the incident. The article I read had a little bit different detail to it, but this is the story. Thank you for posting it. I'm at work and for some reason my phone won't let me attach the link.

Thanks CMD, sad ending, but he had to know what he was getting into. I think this tribe has only been contacted once without injury to someone. I need to brush up on the history of this group, but I believe there are a few pockets of the same people on different islands in that location. One pocket has had their land taken and you can see videos of them on Youtube. The Jarawa people. Unfortunate reports of them being killed and taken advantage of. They are now a tourist attraction and their culture has basically been wiped out. They stand by the side of the road and beg for food from the tourist. If the last group doesn't want to be contacted, then so be it. It would be sad to see a way of life that has lasted for 50,000 years end in my lifetime.
