    This map created in 1944 shows how the course of the Mississippi has changed over the last 3000 years. Take a good look, there might be some areas to hunt you're missing!

        Very cool map Greg. I had the opportunity to hunt very close to the Mississippi River once in Dyer county TN. Looked on google earth and noticed an old prehistoric oxbow lake. I decided we should hunt there and sure enough we found a site along the former river bank. On the ground there was no way to see it. Amazing how much rivers meander. Sure want to go back there one day but it's a seven hour drive for me. Thanks for sharing this!

            That is neat I saw a program once that they were digging a ship that was out in a field that was once the channel of the Mississippi river. One of those drastic channel changes.
