    I think that scientist has got a lot of imagination to think that the one in the pic is a whale, or that they hunted them 5000 years ago. Some more solid proof will be needed for me to believe in something you can only see if you squint from a satellite in space.

        Sandy, I find it genuinely amazing how the Native Americans incorporated wildlife symbolism into their  mounds, effigies, clothing, jewelry, pottery, other artifacts...Whether or not this new find is a whale; I don't know.  You'd have to see any mound from a greater height to visualize what the shape may be.  It is not visible from the ground.
      Much like Dawes Arboretum where they have planted bushes that spell out, "Dawes Arboretum."  There is a tower which you can climb in order to view the letters.  Standing on the ground doesn't get it! It is an amazing sight when you do see it.
      Interesting article, IMHO.
