I would like to know if you found the fluted pieces when you were still a kid?
When you reached adulthood, and realized how important they may have been, you must have told professional Archaeologists about such a potientially important and exciting site.
By now it should have been excavated and written up in American Antiquity.
I have purposly stayed out of this discussion, since it was beginning to look like the continuation of a previous disagreement, and better served in another venue, and certainly will not be solved here.
It has turned into an argument against oneself in my opinion. If surface finds are of no value, why bother even reporting them to "the professionals"? If "the professionals" are the only contributors, and take all the credit let them do all the work, including finding the sites. I'm moving on !

Do you really believe that a South American Clovis site would not have enabled a prefessional Archaeologist to get a grant to dig there?
The truth is that I know that significance and importance goes a long way to getting grant funding to dig a site. You make it sound like this particular site wasn't disturbed in any particular way and would have been an excellent one for a professional dig.
I am not sure why you can't see this.
        Bill,
I've given you more response time than you deserve.  You claimed the site was worthless, that it has been looted/raped/plundered, and even openly stated that I salted the site...  Now we are back the importance of preserving it and my lack of understanding?  Your approval/blessing means very little, I just didn't want the members here to have your libelous "input" being the last word on the subject.  This will be my last respose to you on this subject.
I've spelled out how I've made the collections available to researchers and institutions as well as students, I've taken people there, and shared my records/coordinates with multiple people.  My conscience is perfectly clean with regards to my positive/negative impact on the knowledge of pleistocene archaeology in South America.
I could ask you what you've done for archaeology recently, but you'd just dodge the question again and go back to being a troll on a forum.  (Better behave, this is probably the last good forum that will have you...)

Ha ha, you don't read or understand what is said very well at all do you?
I wrote that at one time, that the archaeology of "that site" had the potential to have advanced science and the understanding of Clovis in South America. Now that significance has been diminished of extinguished altogether.
You have failed to understand that once we find one, collectors must never impede or diminish the scientific value of a site. Only a collector's discretion can protect an archaeological site and in return the Archaeological community and collector community will both benefit from the mutual knowledge that has been gained.
I do what I can to help advance professional Archaeology by working with professional friends. I will also make sure that my professional friends also understand the role you have played vs the one you could have played in site preservation!
Hmmmm snce you started this, that's interesting that you would bring that up. I have been convinced that all along you are the troll!

Up until now this forum has been running smoothly for quite some time.
As was previously stated, your posts are confrontational as well as abrasive.
This wouldn’t be the first forum I left because of this kind of crap.

And you won't have to leave this one 11KBP.
Bill, you have at least three PM's and not all from me. As 11KBP has stated, this place has been running smoothly for quite some time and I am determined to keep it that way. Here's a few of the rules in case you have missed them.
2.4 Posts intended or likely to incite aggression are forbidden. If your views are contrary to the generally accepted views of the community, do not post them in a confrontational way. Present your views in a civil manner and expect others to be civil in return. Be aware that emotion and meaning behind a post is hard to judge. Do not automatically take posts as an attack against yourself as they may have not been meant in such a way. Use the ‘emoticons’ as helpful indicators of the tone of your posts
2.2 Any personal attacks against or discrimination towards another member are strictly forbidden. Posts should not include content that could reasonably be considered: defamatory or libellous; malicious, threatening, harassing or an invasion of privacy; racially, ethnically, religiously, or otherwise prejudiced; pornographic, obscene or vulgar, whether towards an individual, a group of individuals or an entity.  Failure to follow this rule will result in a warning for first time infringers along with removal of offending material. Further infractions will result in a temporary ban from posting; continued infractions will warrant a complete ban from the site.
90 day vacation Bill, I hate to do it but I won't allow this to continue.
