Included are some plummets/pendants from the Jones mound, Hillsbourough co, and the one in my collection, pics...There’s also a fabulous duck or deer head I don’t remember which, at the Florida State Museum , and many others in private collections, that’s an unusually high number of hard stone pendants for any one site ... Ref: Florida Anthropoligist, Vol. 25, June 1972, No.2.....Thanks for lookin.

Duck head top left and silver or gold spider tablet to the right of it, sizes are given for some of them in accompanying pic.....The spider is a southern death cult motif, they have been found in Florida made from Gold, copper and wood, with all the shell that’s here you’d think someone would find a shell one...

I'll keep my eyes peeled for bird plummets now, very interesting and I'm now very curious as to their function.South Carolina

I like this from Moorehead book:
“.... others speak of them as fishline or net sinkers ; but surely we cannot conceive of their being put to such service. An ordinary notched pebble would serve better and could be more readily replaced if lost. The term plummet is suggested by the form, but it is hardly true that they were used as such. Some one suggested that they were charm stones — carried by the shaman in his medicine sack”
