This morning I continued reading about smalled stemmed types of the mid to late archaic. The type seems common in the North East down into VA and Maryland. There are several types in my collections. I ran across this pdf bulletin that was produced by archaeologisits working in Staten Island NY in 2014. Every page has a disclaimer. When you open the PDF you will see this written across the top in red. Not sure what they didnt want folks to know? Its a site report. http://s-media.nyc.gov/agencies/lpc/...ports/1590.pdf

For a lot of reports the information is simply location, location, location. This particularly true on Public land. (So most of Nevada, parks, forest lands, state and national parks, wildlife preserves, etc.) When I was in undergrad in Montana some of the old site surveys in the archives were basically walking maps to small camps and sites that probably hadn't been visited since they were documented. There are lots of paleo sites in Glacier, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks that will never be excavated, those old boys liked lakefront living at least part of the year. It would take a collector an entire life to find one or two of the sites, on the off chance that something identifiable happened to be eroding out. If people knew where they were, and given the isolation they could be dug out and gone quickly.
Some of the private reports commissioned as CRM work is simply privileged. I guarantee Walmart has a whole bunch of archaeological sites in parking lots that are documented that they don't want to be publicly known. Stamp privileged on them, and it keeps them private at least while the pavement and store are being built.Hong Kong, but from Indiana/Florida

Great site survey Matt. I could relate to so much. The Northern Piedmont Tradition and the Susquehanna Broadspear Phase material. Some people find this kind of reading very dry, I find it so fascinating. Heck I even know some of the people mentioned! Thank you Matt. now I have to go back and read the other survey.
