Hello All, This pipe is coming in with a collection of other pipes. This is the only one from out of the northeast area. It's dark steatite, and marked " Taos pipe ". It's approx. 6 in.

Not a problem with it being authentic, and I'm only assuming since it's marked Taos, it's Anasazi-Hohokam-Pueblo-Hopi related. Does anyone recognize the type, culture, etc. ?? Thanks, Paul

I have no idea if this is accurate or not. I had a response from another collector who said that is what's called a " Harvest pipe " and it's in the form of a cornstalk. It would have been smoked to ensure a good crop, or to give thanks for a good harvest. Sounds out there to me, but I am not well versed on artifacts from the southwest, especially pipes.
