  • buffalo shaped arrowhead

Has anyone heard of or seen a buffalo carved and shaped arrowhead? My friend has one in Oklahoma and we are trying to find out what it is and what it is worth. Thanks.

Glenn, actually no need to resort to aliens as an explanation.  They're natural rocks for the most part.

that is a VERY interesting point!  It looks like a stemmed point that snapped off at the barbs and then was renotched for further use.  The resemblance to a Buffalo head is obvious but probably unintentional.  I don't know that it would have big commercial value but it sure is unusual.

IF it is authentic I would call it eccentric form, IF authentic.

Out of my area, but it may be worth taking a look at the "Sauvies Island Hafting -Notched" type 1750-400 B. P. Nice Find!
