    Little more green than in pics posted. Any idea of material?

        Funny when I found this I must have been 19yrs old. Took time to take to a University for more info.
        Fellow there probably did not know either. I remember him saying there might have been 3 others.
        4 used maybe to determine a direction to go for food, travel etc...
        Of course you think go back and look more. But a firestation was soon going up.
        Oh well, they are covered with concrete.

          That is a beauty. I don't think I have ever heard a plausible explanation on their function/purpose.

            I thought I saw something once about them being used for cooking or baking, but I could be mistaken. I've never found one. Very neat piece.
