Reworked Dalton?

Found this interesting piece a while back while surface hunting in S.W. Missouri. It almost looks like a dalton base that was either impact fractured and reworked into a scraper or just a badly damaged base of some kind. The edges of the base are definitely ground. Would anyone consider this a transitional artifact? What would be your best guess as to what kind of base this is?

Could be any number of points that fit into late paleo up to middle archaic. Cool and interesting find.

I agree with Greg. There may be several possibilities here. Don't try to make too much of it. Celebrate when you find the real deal.
