Hey Glenn, Have the points been varnished or is that just shiny stone?

Not seeing hinge fractures is a good thing isn’t it?

Second one from the left is my favorite for sure. Excellent "finds!" (well technically you did find them...on the table. )

          They were in a box

I've never bought an artifact before, but if I saw that collection at a good price and they looked old up close, I would be very tempted. The way my hunts have been going, I would probably lose them on the way home after I bought them...and still come back empty handed. 🙂

I see what looks life fresh hinge fractures on the 2nd point from the right but not on the other 3. Nice score!!! I second the prior mention of leaving found Artifacts untouched/never cleaning or oiling etc. These were already Varnished altered so to speak before you became their Caretaker-so I would of probably also removed the Varnish. I’m always suspect when Artifacts are coated with varnish or anything That could change an Artifacts appearance.

Mineral oil doesn’t hurt them unless it’s a grainy material it will dry off. Many collectors use it

So what is the type of that piece, second from right? It looks Paleo-ish to me.

I bought a collection from him a few years back he didn’t really know the value then. He knows a little now but I know more. He buys estate sales and sometimes they are in with what he buys👍

Thanks he had a box of points from purchasing estates he said he had a lot but has been selling them off in his weekly yard sale. Unfortunately when I looked he had these and the others were obviously fake but not like these. I just passed on the stemmed fake ones.
