  • Never posted .. ovoid or scrapper

I have never posted these and I actually find a few they are more common then birdies or any corner notch .
Does anyone think these are scrapers or could they be ovoids ?
I always thought these were scrappers because the business end as Tom would call these do have a duck bill type worked out . Turns up ..
I did not want to put under what did I find as there are some very nice pieces coming on there .

I call them blades which is the same thing as a preform except sometimes they were used as a knife sometimes not.

I'd call them scraper/ knifes. They do have the duckbill form to them.

Tam, Look at the edges up close for any signs of use. This would be crushing, or possibly smoothed areas. They could either be multipurpose tools, or as most have said, just preforms. But preforms that didn't make it, were sometimes utilized as knives or scrapers.

Thanks everyone I figured all the above , scrapper , knives .Paul they do have a smooth area on the wide end like it was used to scrape . Some use to it .
Just different from the average thumb nail or turtle back .

Tam nice artifacts, sometimes in our area it is almost impossible to put a name on every artifact. I say nice artifact and be happy that they are in your area.
