    Is it correct to name an artifact found in America as Achulian type? my opinion is no, I had a disagreement with a teacher, I would like to know your opinion

    The point of view from the Americas can be messy, and oddly enough based on really old and out-dated info from the 1960's and 1970's.

    Some archaeologists describe it as a style of tool characterized by pear shaped tools. So any tool like that is Acheulian.

    Others define it as a specific type of tool made but a couple of different types of hominids before Homo Sapiens.

    I would say no, it's a early Pleistocene tool from Africa, Asia, Europe and Middle East. Questionable for Australia, but the style is found there in limited numbers.
    Hong Kong, but from Indiana/Florida
