No way to answer hiw old a Hammerstone may be unless found in context. There has been people there for over 12000 years.

Your question is hard to answer. People have been in that area for, at least, several thousand years.. not all the time, and not the same people at times..

a hammer stone can come from any age. They were used throughout. If the hammerstone has a full groove or 3/4 groove that can help narrow it down. The full groove is considered older, archaic. Sometimes you can determine the age by the other artifacts found around or with it. Points are typically much easier to determine age from due to diagnostic characteristics such as shape a method of flaking.

Pics of the hammer would be helpful.
