  • Fossil Stingray Dermal Denticles, Bone Valley, Polk Co., FL

    Used to pic up a lot of these in the spoil piles at the phosphate mines. All these from one short trip. Mines were open back in the Day if you got permission from their office and wear a hard hat. Or they'd just kick you out. Now it's a big bust. Only clubs get minimal access to the mines or if you have a special connection...

      I have a bunch as well from when I lived in Florida from hunting sharks teeth ... very nice ... was never sure exactly what part they came from though

            With the denticles that size makes you wonder just how big were dem buggers?
            Most I find here in Tex are pin head sized.
