Very cool discoveries from the Yukon permafrost.

Rare, mummified remains of two ice age animals — a caribou calf and a wolf pup — have been dug up from the permafrost by gold miners near Dawson City, Yukon.

That's just unbelievable. I wish they could find a dinosaur like that.

Well, not to change the subject, but they have, lol...

The 110 million-year-old fossil of a nodosaur preserves the animal’s armor, skin, and what may have been its final meal.

Thank you for sharing both stories Charlie.
What did you think about the comments at the end of the first one.

That is really cool! I can now say, that I have seen a prehistoric wolf! I am not sure about the age though.

Charlie , very nice read thank you . I watched a special on a mammoth found in the permafrost . The team of archeologist were taking samples and one of them actually tasted it . The blood samples and of course DNA taken from this were going to be the key .
I have always wondered when they find a point / blade if they take samples off of it . Somthing for me to look in to .
I think Paul mentioned a DNA sample from one of his expeditions . Not sure the old brain misses a beat here and there now days .
