    There are an abundance of irregular echinoids
    scattered throughout our primordial past and
    they exist to this day.

    This is one of the type species I have personally collected.
    Hemiaster calvani
    Grayson formation
    Tarrant Co. Texas
    95+ myo.

    It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
    It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.
