    This is a beautifully colorful mastodon tooth that is from the Pleistocene of North Florida. The species is M. americanum. It measures 4" wide and weighs 1lb 0.3oz.

      Looks like that old boy didn't brush his teeth.

      Awesome example! If I had a time machine I could use for weekend excursions, diving some of the Florida rivers/sinks 80 years ago would probably happen within the first couple of months.
