Fossil crab species discovered by forum member Stone2Bone

New fossil crab species discovered in Texas by forum member Stone2Bone. Jess thank you for allowing me to publish this on our page. The specimens are now housed in the invertebrate lab at UT Austin. The report on the discovery was recently published in PDF format . Just so you know this was named for Jess's wife Christine who has been patient, loving and supportive of Jess when he ventured out on expeditions of discovery. Here is a link to the PDF. Just published: a large new species of crab from the Cenomanian of Texas, 𝘕𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘦 n. sp.
Also a good example of the importance of the thoracic sternum in fossil crabs; it allows us to review the relationship with allied crabs such as 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘴 and 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘴.
