medieval personal eating knives article ... something similar in NA culture?
They were fashionable and functional, used for dining and self-defense.
Our NA's didn't have sets of Oneida silverware either.....yet every man, woman and able child might have a tool like a knife, not just a stick. Maybe a lot of the funkies we find are hand me downs to people for their own personal eating, cutting.
Stab the bad guy, kill the beast and eat the animal using the same knife for all.
We really are pretty clueless as to to what many purposes these artifacts we pick up were used. and by whom.
