It might be a high grade of rhyolite. Very nice lookng material. It does look river polished

Looks like a banded Rhyolite to me too. As for it being found on Georges Bank, the only thing I've found out there was some Cod on the several trips I've made to that location. It isn't surprising to me though, water levels 10k years ago were much much lower than they are today so that whole area was more than likely high and dry and the areas where we sit today, under a whole lotta ice! It certainly isn't the first artifact to be dredged up out of the depths off the Eastern seaboard. Cinmar Blade sound familiar?
