    Two examples of coral that was used for the manufacture of various lithics  by the native Americans.This stuff is harder than woodpecker lips ,but in the right hands produced some of the most beautiful points in North America.

          Chunks driven off coralheads back in the day:

          An agatized coralhead that they were banging on.

          There are several kinds of agatized coral (cryptocrystalline pseudomorph after coral), this is large polyp, there are small polyp types (pinhead) and swirly types

            Great pieces.Do you have any example of rattlesnake coral Tom?.....it's my favorite.I have a flake of it around here somewhere,i just have to dig it up.
