  • Manning Fused Glass cores

    Posted by [GarScale]:

These cores are all very small and even though they would obviously been larger at some point, the bladelets would have still been relatively small. The cores are Paleo or early archaic but the small flakes of brilliant material may have been largely decorative.

Hey Steve, That is some striking color. Thanks for the pics.
I have 3 little ones but nothing as brilliant as yours.

Ron, those are killer Paleo cores! Classic bladelets off those! These little Manning Fused glass cores have flakes struck all around them but especially where the would be multi-colored. Some of the flakes would have been too small to be practical for used as a cutter.  Since this material is so rare, it makes me wonder if the little flakes served a decorative /jewelry purpose.

That is some amazing material Steve! Is it pretty much limited to your area in Texas?
