  • Is this what is called "Flint Ridge" material?

My husband found this while we were hunting yesterday. Shame it was broken...such a beauty!
I'm crazy bout the material it's made from. Is this what is commonly referred to as "Flint Ridge" material?

We ought to hook up some time.  We prolly aren't an hour drive from each other.  I got my wife addicted to hunting too!  Just an idea!...Daniel

Nice looking material there Jane. Kentucky is full of high grade, colorful materials. Sonora, Carter Cave, Tyrone, Haney, and a few others come to mind as well as Ky. agate. My guess would be Haney on that piece. Jmo.

Ryan, Thanks! I'll have to look those material types up so I'll hopefully become more familar with what I'm finding. It would be nice to have a little piece of each material on a little chart or something like that. I just may have to put me one together.
