  • "Greasy Agate"

    One of the variations of chert in FL is Greasy Agate. Looks like vaseline is coating the material. I am not sure if it is naturally occurring as "greasy" or if it's an effect from heat treating. Most collectors here have a few made of this material.

            Very nice Tom, thanks for the lesson . I did read in a book about Chert being heat treated and getting a waxy look .
