  • Is this banded slate...

Took a walk yesterday and found this on the edge of a wash...it had me for a minute as the angle it was lying at made me think I had a celt. Anyway I kept it for further investigation. Is it banded slate? The other one is a lithic that I never see. It looks like a silicified something.

Ok Chase thanks. The lines had me thinking slate maybe. The other probably is chert as it is everywhere in my area but in sunlight it kinda had a sparkle to it. Kinda gave it a different look. Thanks for the answers man...

Yeah that Burlington is everywhere in my area. I could haul 25 lbs of it back after every trip...

All the Burlington Chert I find has been heat treated . Has those pink hues to it . I rarely find the white .
