  • Another, what is this material?

    These are just pieces and have never been cleaned but they are gloss white with a nice sheen

      I'm calling Burlington also, maybe the keokuk variety.

          Looks like Burlington to me too, wierd for Kentucky but it happens occasionally. I have a real nice Dalton from a western KY Rock shelter made from Burlington. Being such a dominant lithic in Mo., Ill. It was just bound to end up across the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.

            Kyflintguy, I probably have ten pieces or more, mostly partials, made from this material. All from here n northern Ky. I think Tecumseh brought it back as he made his rounds to unify the tribes........ONLY KIDDING....about the Tecumseh part. Many many flakes of this material in the fields.
