      If anyone is interested in visual comparisons, the jasper pictured here was collected at the prehistoric workings in the Limerock area of Lincoln, RI, which was first discovered in 1999. Revealing for the first time that not all our jasper artifacts were made from jasper imported from Pa. Some of my area friends believe they are now able to distinguish RI jasper from Pa. jasper. I have more photos of pieces they believe is RI jasper. All of us in this area find jasper, but I am not up to speed personally in distinguishing. My understanding was that the two jaspers could only be distinguished via destructive chemical testing....
