Good lesson, Hoss. We have a quarry site in Providence that shows many still attached bowl forms. I found a complete small bowl blank in one of my corn fields years ago, freshly chiseled off the outcrop and circular in shape, but hollowing out not started. Many of our sites are within a short distance of the largest soapstone quarry in southeast New England. Thanks for posting the video.
went to a knap-in up near gainsville fl a few years back, these guys were making pipes out of soapstoneat $100 i had to pass on them but still neat to watch
wow they're droping 500 lbs -ers out at he bombing range rocked the house!
