  • Red Big Horn Flint

    I've always liked the Big Horn flint from WY but I've only found a couple of pcs this far south. If you've got some pcs to post pics of I'd luv to see 'um.

        My understanding is that the quarry is on the western flanks of the northern part of the range maybe near Greybull.

        You knife is deffinately Big Horn flint... just beautiful...!

              I love the dramatically-colored artifacts as well. I live about a mile from the town of Big Horn, Wyoming (on the east side of the range). We have a lot of red scoria in the area- many of our roads are red from all they use in the construction- but not much "knapable" that's red. The view from the end of my driveway...back in August when we only got a little snow.
