      When you say iron stone is that the same as iron ore . Ant Mike you know all the giant crust deposits in Lumpkin Georgia .

        It's a sedimentary sandstone with a 15% iron content found in thin layers artifacts usealy have cortex on both sides

        Oh yeah Tam, I remember finding that stuff all the time. It seemed to be almost everywhere. I never found a artifact made from it, have you?

        I've got a scraper or game piece made from the Georgia stuff. Its round but flat

      Hematite is an oolitic ironstone, I think. (Don’t you just love word “oolitic”!.....means really old!)

        Yes I have a perfect Adena shape and I posted a friends and this site said point but rare . You have to think with this all over in sheets the NA would have tried . I’ll pull it up when I go back to Georgia do you .
        Mike I don’t buy flagstone at Lowe’s we go collect it and make walkways .
