  • Bubblegum quartz

hi all. A while back I posted a broken tip made from some unusual material. Red identified it as bubblegum quartz. It was the the first time I had ever seen any. Yesterday I took a quick walk at the spot where I had found the tip and within a few feet of the spot I found a chunk of the same material.

It's always nice to be able to go back and find associated rare lithics. Does this material differ from chalcedony? It sure looks like it with the grey streaking and opaqueness. Great finds..
