Check with Charlie on that stuff looks like felsite to me. Might even be Hingham like that center piece he showed us once.

It's the rare purple color variety of rhyolite. It also occurs sporadically at the Caledonia rhyolite outcrops near Gettysburg, Pa. Used extensively by the broad point cultures of the transitional period in Pa.

Hmm.. I wonder if it is the same ancient volcanic fault line, and it pokes up again in PA. I have seen both types of the purple in Narragansett bay. The purple that is striped like the pictures above, and the purple with the speckles in it too, from the same deposit. Is it striped in PA or speckled?
