Petrified Wood?

Kelly, It sure could be Petrified Wood. I have also seen chert that have the same banding as this has. but the color of the dark on the right hand side of the pic would lend me to believe your correct in thinking that it is P-wood. This also looks to be a preform more so than a knife, since there does not appear to secondary flaking. I do like the colors and think that it is a great find.
Look to the ground for it holds the past! -
